124- Dandelion Wishes

Remember when you were a child and used to pick the puffy dandelion heads, make a wish and then blow? Do you ever wish for those days again... when life wasn't so complicated? or hard? Yeah, me too...

Yesterday one of our little 12-year-old deacons got up to bear his testimony in church. He said, "Yes, I've had an interesting life. I've had lots of trials. People keep leaving (sister married, brother just left on mission) and people keep coming (he is one of 12 children)". Then he said something that was wise beyond his years. "When you have trials (sweet boy, doesn't know about real trial yet) you either learn how to help yourself or you learn how to help others."

Wish it was that easy!

Lizzie calls these "wishers", for obvious reasons. I love the title!

Guess this is the season of "wishers", with all those lovely yellow posies all over, some of them even long-stemmed!
Is spring a "wisher" season in another sense too?

What a cute story. Leave it to you to make a dandelion look wonderful :)

I know that technically these are supposed to be weeds but these "wishers" (I love that) make me smile with their bright yellow blooms and then the soft, fairies that float away on a childs breath.
Once again...GREAT photo Joanie. Thanks so much for sharing your talent.

No wonder we are told to become as a little child. If only we all could have such sweet simple testimonies. I have a love hate relationship with those little yellow flowers. I hate when they spread all over my lawn, but I love when my sweet little boy lovingly, and with much excitement, brings me these beautiful yellow flowers he picked for me :) Again, if we could only be like these sweet little children, the world would be much kinder.

There was a little deacon who bore his testimony on Sunday that left me with my jaw on the floor. He stood up and so matter of factly said: "I shook hands with the prophet, and the spirit told me that he was real and true. I know the Prophet is real, and that the spirit can let us know these things..." I was more impressed with his testimony than any others born by adults that day! :)
