181- Stargazer Lily

I sneak outside this afternoon before the wind started to howl and got shots of my beautiful stargazer lilies. Good thing!! Now their petals are strewn all over the backyard... sad, sad, sad... I think I'm in Palmdale again!



I bought these bulbs spring 2009 and put them in a pot with some petunias. I never saw them even sprout! So this spring when I hauled the pots out from under the deck I saw that they'd started to sprout.

I thought they would never bloom! Apparently they needed the hot weather (well, Springville hot = 90)in order to bloom. Now I can hope that the wind calms down so I can enjoy the rest of the blooms that are getting ready to pop.
