236- Sunflower

This is an image that I had fun with adding filters and blending modes. I just love these wild sunflowers that grow wild on all the ditch banks, roadsides and fields. This on is in Grannie Annie's back garden.

I heard a story years ago that the women pioneers threw sunflowers seeds along the trail so that the women coming along later would have something beautiful to look at as they trekked west. Even though the sowers would never see the flowers, they did it out of love. Every time I see the roadside sunflowers, I think of that principle.
