I won't bore you with all the steps, gathers, pinning, lining, tulle ruffle, zipper in last, not enough fabric... aaahhhhh!!! I've been sewing for almost 50 years and THIS pattern is not fast nor easy. What was I thinking when we picked this out for her first project?
I've been thinking all evening as I've worked on this skirt... how would little Ashton have managed with all of this?

She would have managed it with a smile. Even if it hid frustration and disappointment, she would smile. Because that's the kind of girl she is. Also, she would just be happy to be with her Grammie, whom she loves so dearly. Thank you for going through such frustration for her. You are a very special Grammie.
But it looks so dang cute! You are going to have to put it on here when it's done. Adorable! But then again, I have a thing for polka dots.
